Gerrish Fire Fighters Association

The Gerrish Fire Fighter’s Association was established in 1981 and is a separate entity from the Gerrish Township Fire/EMS Department.

When the Association began in 1981, its original objective was to “Aid and assist our neighbors and fellow man in the protection of their property and life” and has evolved into much more with emphasis placed on our membership (department family) and the community that we serve.

The Association holds regular monthly meetings and members pay monthly dues which supports the Gerrish Fire/EMS Department with sponsoring events and community programs such as:

Stuff The Ambulance

Northern Michigan Children's Assessment Center

NMCAC’s core service is to provide a multidisciplinary response to cases involving a child victim. A typical case might involve multiple law enforcement agencies, state child protective services, the court(s), school(s), medical and mental health providers. NMCAC strives to align these parties and interests into a comprehensive child-focused process that ensures children are given a proper interview, advocacy and treatment.

Put simply, the NMCAC makes sure no child gets lost in the aftermath of child abuse and neglect. Learn more.
