Semi-Annual Fire Department Training Held on October 26th

Firefighters practice using their new battery operated extrication tools to remove the top of one of the donated junked automobiles

On a crisp Saturday, several members of the Gerrish Fire/EMS Department attended a semi-annual Extrication Training that was held at Roscommon Auto Recyclers.

We trained with the new department rescue unit #220 utilizing the unit’s winch, battery operated extrication tools and stabilization equipment.

Members are required to attend at least one of the Extrication Trainings offered per year, once in the Spring and again in the Fall.

A huge THANK YOU to Bernie from Roscommon Auto Recyclers for allowing us to practice these very important skills at his facility and for donating and setting up the junk cars that we cut up and totally destroy during these events.
